The role of the Canon Pastor

The role of Canon Pastor is a new role at the Cathedral. Father Mark is the Cathedral’s first point of contact for pastoral care and works with the Dean to develop effective pastoral liturgies. The Canon Pastor has direction of the Cathedral Pastoral Care Groups and works to develop an effective system of pastoral care for the whole Cathedral community, including staff, visitors and worshippers. He oversees the Cathedral’s existing work with children, young people and young adults and its provision for families. In addition, he oversees the Cathedral’s Community Lunch Programme, and gives guidance and advice on the growth and development of similar areas of mission and ministry.
